Home decoration & Interior Design in Glyfada (180 m2), Attiki, Greece
Architectural Representation, Interior Design, Decoration, Selection of Furniture, Fabrics, and Lighting.
Home decorating involves a creative process that takes into account various aspects of the interior space. The interior design should reflect both the needs and preferences of the residents as well as the architectural features of the residence. In 2014, our architectural firm took on a project to design and decorate a 180 m2 residence in Glyfada for a family of four who had recently moved into their new home. Our aim was to create an interior design that would complement their daily life and reflect their unique style.
To fully capture the essence of the residence and establish its new aesthetic identity, after the architectural representation, we moved on to designing the home decoration and selecting the aesthetic features for the interior design. The house was adorned with classic-style decor, with furniture choices being the defining factor for its aesthetic identity. Color gradations were meticulously crafted in every room, with more intense hues situated at the bottom of the space, gradually transitioning into softer tones as we move up.
The living room and the dining area were enriched with a wider range of colors through the careful selection of curtains and new fabrics used to upholster the chairs. These complementary shades successfully added to the warm earthy colors of the rooms.
The family’s personal touch was also incorporated into the kitchen area, with the addition of personal photos on the wall, highlighting the moments they spend in the space during their daily routine.
To enrich the aesthetic identity with points of contrast, several modern touches were added to the classic style of the home’s decor. For instance, an interesting installation of a composition of hangers was placed in the entrance area, and decorative floor candle lanterns that frame the industrial style of the bookcase.
Throughout the interior design and the home decoration process, we consistently followed the natural light flow, which not only served functional purposes but also highlighted the aesthetic identity by accentuating the complementary color and material combinations. For areas that required artificial lighting, we carefully selected fixtures that were both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
